Over 20 years ago, we started a floor service company in Atlanta, Georgia. It began with waxing and refinishing old floors in homes all over the city. Refinishing always consisted of using large and noisy sanding machinery to sand floors down to bare wood: a very messy and dusty process no matter how much preparation took place. And while we were always happy to provide the service, it soon became apparent that many customers did not need their floors fully refinished. The floors were in need of restoration, and a full refinish was simply an unnecessary expense. We quickly realized that restoration would, in many cases, give the customer a much improved look without the hassle. The process required only one day, and because it involved no sanding, there was no dust clean-up. On top of everything else, the process cost only 25% of what a full floor refinishing job cost. Since that time, we have always presented our customers with the option of restoring their floors instead of refinishing them. Over two-thousand homes later, none of them have ever regretted their decision.
